SophiasStyle.com | A Very Crafty Christmas

It’s still September but I don’t care – I’m getting into the holiday spirit early. Besides, Christmas decorations have been in the store for a month now and baby Christmas dresses are steadily streaming into SophiasStyle.com. I might as well join the club!

Before my kids came along, I had the time (and patience) to create elaborate Christmas crafts and decorations. Things are much more hectic with the kiddos around, but I still want some homemade festivity around the house. Luckily I found these really easy DIY tree ornaments. Literally, all you need is paper, scissors, glue and pom poms. Easy, quick and simple so it’s a great activity for kids.

Having kids also means I have less time to hunt down the perfect girls Christmas dress or boys suit, and less money to spend once I find them. Sophias Style solves both of those problems. They have a great selection of designer baby girls and toddler Christmas dresses from all the top brands – Lito, Bonnie Jean, Sweet Kids, Chic Baby and more. Maybe that’s nothing new – the department stores carry all the boutique styles too. The true Christmas miracle here is how affordable a girl Christmas dress from SophiasStyle.com is! Our styles are 20-70% off the retail tag, so there’s no reason to ever go to the mall again.

In the time it takes my kids to make this cute Christmas craft, I can go online and buy their holiday attire, all the while saving money!

Coordinating Lito Christmas Looks for Boys and Girls | SophiasStyle.com

There’s really nothing sweeter or more adorable than a girls Christmas dress that coordinates with a boys suit. They are great for brothers and sisters, cousins or family friends. Sophias Style has several baby and toddler Christmas dresses from Lito this year that match each other, as well as Lito baby boys formal suits designed to coordinate with the dresses. We have a look for every kid in the family!

Can’t you just imagine your kids posing for a family portrait or Christmas card in these baby Christmas dresses? The long sleeve red and black dress would be great for a baby or toddler. It’s available in size 6M-12, so it’s perfect for an infant. The sleeveless girl Christmas dress would be an elegant holiday look for an older girl of 8-10 years old. Then you can get the boys in on the action with this 4pc red vest suit that matches perfectly with the girls’ dresses! (These three looks from Lito are also available in festive silver and brown.)

This color scheme is very appropriate for the holidays and mom and dad could easily coordinate their own black and red clothes for a family portrait. You can shop one place for not only the kids’ Christmas clothes this year, but also for the shoes, hair accessories, tights and other things you’ll need to complete their looks. Our designer infant Christmas dresses, boys suits and accessories are always discount priced off the retail tag, so you’ll save time and money!

Lito Christmas Dresses are Twice as Nice!

A beautiful Lito Christmas dress
You know the holidays are nearer when new Christmas dresses arrive everyday! We’ve been seeing a lot of Lito lately – a top quality brand that’s been a leader in girls Christmas dresses and other formal wear for more than 35 years. They provide quality and value in every beautiful keepsake garment they make.

In the past week alone, we’ve trimmed our proverbial tree with more than 20 new girl, toddler and infant Christmas dresses by Lito. Nothing says the holidays like an exquisite infant Christmas dress, but that doesn’t mean that’s all the dress has to say! For example, this beautiful navy dress with a silver rosette sash can serve double duty as both a holiday dress and a flower girl dress. Navy is a very popular color for fall and winter weddings and the silver accents add a bit of winter wonderland feel.

Your little girl will want to wear this gorgeous dress again anyway, and you’ll be happy to get twice the wear for one low price! You’ll have no trouble finding a versatile girls or infant Christmas dress by Lito – shop and see the selection at SophiasStyle.com!

Her Christmas Look from Head to Toe

A beautiful Christmas dress
There’s no doubt that SophiasStyle.com is the place to shop for a girl Christmas dress for the upcoming holidays. With hundreds of infant, baby and toddler Christmas dresses to choose from, we’re practically girls Christmas dress central! But did you know that we also carry all the shoes and accessories to accompany her perfect holiday dress, plus gifts and stocking stuffers? No need to run all over town picking up dress shoes, hair bows, and presents. Pull up a chair to your computer (or snuggle on the couch with your laptop) and shop Sophias Style boutique for everything you need.

The perfect pair!
First things first: you’ll need to choose the perfect girls or baby Christmas dress. I’m personally in love with this new arrival from Sweet Kids. It’s a beautiful red taffeta dress featuring black polka dots and a charming sash at the waist. Sweet Kids is one of our most popular brands for not only girls and infant Christmas dresses, but also Easter and flower girl dresses. All of our Sweet Kids customers can’t be wrong!

Now that you have the foundation for her look, it’s time to accessorize! We all know the perfect pair of shoes really makes an outfit. These sophisticated patent flats from IM Link come in three colors – black, wine or silver. I’m going to pair the black pair with my toddler Christmas dress this year. They’ll tie into the black polka dots on the dress and they are youthful yet sophisticated – perfect for any little girl.

A great hair accessory!
Don’t neglect her tresses for the holidays. You might have a hard time choosing just one item from our enormous selection of girls hair accessories, but that means she’ll have lots of options. This black sparkle flower hair clippie will add a bit of glitz for the holidays and can easily be pair with other clothes all year round.

A cute Christmas gift
Finally, trim the tree with a special gift for your special little girl. We have toys, jewelry, bags and more that will delight the kids this holiday season. I chose this adorable pink poodle backpack from Kreative Kids. She can remove the plush poodle for cuddle time, or strap it onto the bag and take it wherever she goes.

Now you know how to re-create this look for your little girl, or shop SophiasStyle.com to make your own fashionable and affordable holiday ensemble!

Chic Christmas Dresses at Sophias

Girls Christmas Dresses
Girls Christmas Dresses
I will be the first to admit that I am a bit overly enthusiastic about stripes, particularly horizontal ones.  I know they are traditionally an enormous fashion don't, but I love them.  I think they're chic and fun and flattering, and they are the most versatile pattern that ever was.  Honestly, a striped navy and white tee shirt can be worn to give your outfit a charming, casual nautical feel.  An oversized striped sweater with skinny jeans will make your legs look two miles long.  A striped blouse will make even the most blase office ensemble interesting.  And a striped dress?  That will make for the most stylish look in the room.  It's unique and classic at the same time.  I'm in love with our striped girls Christmas dresses.  If you're not quite comfortable with breaking the only fashion rule you mother and grandmother agree upon, then don't.  Have your adorable daughter do it instead with her toddler Christmas dress!  She's way too young to have reservations about anything horizontal, and since you're still the one dressing her, you can totally take credit for the cutting edge fashion statement she's making!  Genius, right?

On a related note, now is the perfect time to get chic Christmas dresses for girls.  We're just getting in all the lastest styles, so you can grab yours before they sell out.  Better hurry!

Designer Christmas Dresses for Girls | Sophias Style

Designer Christmas Dresses for Girls
Designer Christmas Dresses for Girls
Early though it may be, I've already started shopping for fall and winter.  For me, fall is the season for fashion, and the holidays are like the grand finale.  After that the fashion world obsesses over spring for about ten minutes and then skips right ahead to the next fall.

So yes, shopping now, because this is when you snag the best deals.  I just bought a gorgeous black silk dropwaist tunic by Society for Rational Dress and a green sequin dress by Alice and Olivia, both for less than a fifth of their original prices and I'm feeling very smug about it.  The tunic was positively made to be worn to an art gallery opening on a blustery Saturday afternoon in the fall.  And as for the green sequin number - you guessed it, my Christmas dress.

This fall and winter, my favorite trends from 2010 are definitely sticking around.  It's all about looking classy, classy, classy.  All the most traditional elements of glamour are being combined with ultra preppy details to create some of the best fashion yet.  Girls Christmas dresses will be coming in positively adorable styles.  Everything from chic, clean lines done in beautiful plaid prints (like the image above) to elaborate little girl Christmas dresses in ruffles, tulle and sequins.

Take my advice, find your toddler Christmas dress or baby girl Christmas dresses now.  Tiz the season to be shopping, so check out all the gorgeous designer Christmas dresses for girls at Sophias Style, and snag those awesome deals before someone else does!

Le Mistral

A Provençal santon, or Christmas figure, facing the Mistral
It's very windy outside today in Omaha, and it's making me nostalgic.  Before moving to Omaha, I was living in Southern France, near Marseilles.  In the winter, they have what's called the Mistral, which is an incredibly strong wind that comes from the North and blows for days, sometimes weeks, at a time.  It's dreadful, but also kind of charming.  Everywhere you go, you have to bundle up and walk with your head down.  Lost hats and newspapers are constantly flying around the streets in towns.  You pass by shopkeepers fighting to secure their awnings and dragging any outdoor displays indoors before the Mistral takes them away.  Every time you turn a corner you have to brace yourself for new currents of wind that hit hard enough to knock children and petite adults to the ground.  "Sacre Mistral" becomes the muttered mantra throughout all of Provence.
Supposedly, if you can survive the fury of the Mistral, it will eventually bring good health.  It dries stagnant water and clears the skies.  It's the secret ingredient behind Provence's otherwise perpetually sunny days.

At Christmas time, Provençal churches and town squares are decorated with displays of santons like the one in the image.  Even the figures are oftentimes depicted as bracing themselves against the Mistral!  Christmas is very beautiful in Europe, and it's so cute to see little French girls in baby girl Christmas dresses!  Speaking of, nows a good time to find a great bargain on Christmas dresses, so if you need a girls Christmas dress or a toddlers Christmas dress, stop by Sophias Style today!

The Royal Wedding and Christmas Dresses for Girls

Christmas Dresses for Girls
Christmas Dresses for Girls
I know this isn't the season, but really there's never a bad time to be shopping for Christmas dresses for girls.  If you find the perfect toddler girl Christmas dress today, you won't have to panic in November or December, right?  We also have really great baby Christmas dresses and little girl Christmas dresses, so there's a selection for girls of any age.

Now, on to what we all really want to talk about:  the Royal Wedding/ how handsome guests Mr. and Mrs. Beckham were looking in spite of Victoria's questionable choice of formal maternity wear.  That dress was almost right, but something was missing, wasn't it?  It's just that it was so plain, and she carried a plain bag as well.
The Beckham's

Why not a really ladylike little clutch instead?  Instead she's walking around in this tent-like dress carrying what appears to be one of those black boxes that's guaranteed to survive airplane crashes.  It's a good thing she wore the hat and kept Mr. Beckham on her arm, without those gorgeous accessories, I think all would have been lost.
V. Beckham is not my favorite designer; in fact I think she's a rather lousy designer.  That being said, I'm still sort of fascinated by her.  She's so extreme (read: extremely predictable) and her style, while not impressive, has remained essentially un-swayed throughout how many years and major life changes?  The woman is her own version of timeless.  Her dress will always be plain but tailored, and her shoes will always resemble medieval torture devices.  Also, her husband will always be ridiculously good-looking.  Mock her though we may, she's always got that going for her.

Christmas Dress Sale at Sophia's Style!

Girls Christmas Dresses
Girls Christmas Dresses
We're down to 19 days until Christmas! That's less than three weeks, are you excited? I can't wait, this weekend is the first holiday party of the season!  I have a really pretty dress picked out, and I can't wait to finally wear it.

Speaking of dresses, today and tomorrow only, we're having a sale for 20% off girls Christmas dresses!  Enter SANTA20 at checkout to apply the discount.  I really like the baby Christmas dress pictured to the left, the embroidery is so pretty and I love the gold velvet rosette on the sash.

I went to a really cozy wedding a few weeks ago, it was in a little hunting lodge in the country.  The colors were gold and burgundy, so it was sort of holiday-themed and really pretty.  The flower girl wore an ivory dress similar to the one in the picture, but with a red satin sash.  She looked so adorable!  I love full puffy skirts on little girls, they look so picturesque and sweet.

Enjoy shopping and have a wonderful week!

Boutique Baby Clothes | Sophia's Style

Happy Friday!  It's the first weekend of December, which means we're down to the final three weeks before Christmas!  Does everyone have their holiday plans ready?  I'm going to go stay at my parents' house on Christmas Eve, then we're driving out to my grandmother's house on Christmas for a family gathering.  Strangely, I'm only half looking forward to it because I'm worried about leaving my kitten home alone for over 24 hours straight.  I think he'll be lonely, and I suspect I'm turning into a crazy cat lady.

Boutique Baby Clothes
Boutique baby Clothes
But on to more important topics, like Christmas shopping.  Have you finished yours?  I still need to get my mother's present, but I already know what's it's going to be.  I can't tell you now, because this is the internet and it's the least private place in the world.  If you haven't finished your shopping yet, then of course I recommend you head over to Sophia's Style girls clothing store.  It is after all, the only online retailer where you can find designer girls clothing and boutique baby clothes at discount prices.

Christmas shopping or not, I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!

Girls Bouffant Slips | Sophia's Style

Girls Petticoat Slips
Petticoat Slips
You know what word I never get to use?  Bouffant.  In fact, I don't think I've ever even said that word out loud, I only ever read it.  According to Wikipedia it's a hairstyle, "the bouffant was popular in Western culture in the 1960s, when it was created with the help of back-combing and large amounts of hair spray."  Wiki also says the the style is suspected to have originated in France, where it was developed because Marie Antoinette wanted her hair to look thicker.  Fascinating.  Girls bouffant slips are used for the purpose of making skirts look fuller.  They have without a doubt been around longer than Marie Antoinette's thin hair, so I kind of feel like the word "bouffant" should reference the slips before the hairdo.

Girls Pageant Dresses
Anyhow, enough rambling about word origins, the purpose of today's blog is for me to remind you that you might want to get petticoat slips to go with all the pretty Christmas dresses you'll be buying.  Sophia's Style dresses are made to be stunning as they are, but an extra fluffy skirt always looks extra adorable.

In other news, did you know that as of this week, Sophia's Style is carrying a whole new line of absolutely gorgeous dresses by Sweetie Pie?  Just look at how pretty these dresses are!

Girls Outfits For Every Season | Sophia's Style

Baby Girl Outfit
Baby Girl Outfit

My officemate is already getting excited about playing Christmas music at work.  I told her it's too early, and then I started browsing our girls outfits, looking for blog inspiration, and came across this baby girl outfit.  How cute is that?!  The leggings look like candy canes, and the tunic is decorated with gingerbread cookies!  Now that I've looked at it, I want to listen to Christmas music and eat cookies.  *Sigh,* I give in.  As soon as the weather gets cold, I can't help but think of the holidays.

Does anyone have big plans this year?  The more I look at our girls outfits, the more I miss going to my grandparents' house when I was a kid.  I loved sitting in my grandma's kitchen near the oven while she made dinner.  I always had some kind of Christmas sweater or dress that was really warm and cozy, and my mom always made me let her curl my hair.  I may be a bit of a girly-girl, but that doesn't mean I like having my hair fixed.  I'm pretty sure we had a fight everytime she came anywhere near me with a brush, a curling iron, or (heaven forbid) a bottle of hairspray.

I hope everyone else is as excited as I am for Christmas this year!  We only have a couple more months, it'll be here before we know it!

Christmas Dresses | Sophia's Style

Christmas Dresses
Beautiful Red Christmas Dress

Happy Tuesday, it's not Monday anymore!  We've been busy, busy, busy over here at Sophia's Style headquarters, mostly because we keep getting beautiful new baby Christmas dresses in, and this office is full of ladies with baby fever.  So, besides doing our actual jobs, we also spend lots of time ooo-ing and aahh-ing over all the pretty little details on every new dress style we get in stock.

Girls Christmas Dress
Gorgeous Velvet & Plaid Christmas Dress
I've said it before and I'll say it again:  I love velvet, and I am so thrilled to be seeing it in women's fashion this season!  Velvet has that glossy but soft look that's glamorous and cozy at the same time (such combinations are rare where fashion is concerned).

Little girls are so lucky, velvet never goes out of style for them.  Normally we see trends pop up on the runways and in high fashion, then they trickle down through ready-to-wear, and about two to four seasons later we see them in little girls' fashion.  But not this time!  We're taking our cues from the littlest ladies this year, and I'm not ashamed to admit it.

Baby Christmas Dresses
Speaking of pretty little details...
So, this Christmas, don't ignore all those gorgeous velvet and velour Christmas dresses when you buy your girls Christmas dress.  It's such a beautiful, classic style.  Let's adopt the look, but not steal it.  Afterall mom, she had it first.

Christmas Dresses | Sophia's Style

Christmas Dresses
Christmas Dresses
Halloween is just around the corner, and I am SO EXCITED to get dressed up!  I bought all the supplies I need to make my mask for the masquerade.  There will be lots of glitter and feathers involved, and I have the most beautiful satin champagne colored party dress!

Speaking of beautiful dresses, once Halloween is over, it's going to be time to start shopping for Christmas dresses!  I want something either emerald green or royal blue, and I want it to be velvet.  I'm very into velvet right now, my boyfriend has a black velvet blazer and I've got half a mind to steal it from him.

Christmas Outfits
Christmas Dress
I'd also like to steal all of our girls Christmas party dresses at Sophia's Style, but unfortunately they don't come in my size.  That's lucky for you though, because that means you can buy them for all of your gorgeous daughters and neices and granddaughters!  We also have some really pretty girls Christmas outfits, which I like because they're exceptionally unique.

Now's the time to start shopping for that perfect dress, and they go fast, so don't miss out!

Start Christmas Shopping Now!

Christmas Dresses
Christmas Dresses
Christmas can be so stressful sometimes.  I love buying gifts for my family and close friends, but I hate when I can't think of anything original.  My poor brother, he must have an entire closet full of sweaters from me- he's been getting a few for every holiday since I was sixteen.  Don't get me wrong, they're great sweaters, I have impeccable taste, but there isn't really any suspense when it comes times to open gifts.  This year, I'm hoping he'll ask his girlfriend to marry him, and then they can have babies and I can buy them this gorgeous diaper bag next Christmas!

I've already planned all the ways I'll spoil their kids when they have them- which irritates my brother to no end (weird, right?).  Hopefully there'll be a girl, so I can take her shopping and buy her beautiful girls clothes from Sophia's Style.  I also want him to have a girl every time I look at the stunning Christmas dresses we've got on the site!

Little Girl Christmas Dress
If you need a baby Christmas dress or a little girl Christmas dress, you have to see our selection.  Everything looks so lovely and festive, it reminds me of shopping with my mom for my Christmas dress before the Christmas pageant at school every winter.  I had this one really pretty black velvet dress that reminds me this beautiful Bonnie Jean dress we're carrying right now.

There's no avoiding the holiday stress altogether, but at least you can start your shopping early and avoid the nightmarish mall scene this year.  Find your little girls dress on Sophia's Style, and don't forget to check out all our other catagories, you might find some unique gifts!
