Make School Shopping Affordable Again!
As expensive as boys and girls school uniforms are, you’d think they come with gold or diamonds in the pockets. But alas, every year my mom and dad spent a small fortune on my school uniform and we never found any hidden treasures within them.
This year, instead of spending a small fortune, save a small fortune with affordable school uniforms from SophiasStyle.com! We have all the selection and styles that a fancy, expensive uniform store has – pants, sweaters, tops, shorts and even plus size school uniforms – but at a fraction of the cost.
Our school uniforms are from the trusted Classroom Uniforms label, so you know they are made with quality materials and a fabulous, comfortable fit in mind. With the money you save on your kids school uniforms, you can get them that awesome new lunchbox they’ve been eyeing!

Tasty Turkey Day Treats| SophiasStyle.com
Thanksgiving will be here before we know it! Like me, I’m sure you’re planning a feast with all of those holiday favorites – turkey, stuffing, potatoes, pumpkin pie and more. All those traditional foods just say “Thanksgiving” to me and I can’t wait to spend time with my friends and family at the dinner table.
Here’s another tasty treat you can add to your Thanksgiving menu this year. These adorable turkey cookies from Pilsbury! I saw them in the Sunday paper this weekend and loved the idea. This makes a great craft for kids and will help get everyone into the Turkey Day spirit.
Simply use a dot of frosting to add chocolate candies at the center of a sugar cookie for the turkey’s eyes. Pipe a small dollop of frosting onto candy corns and stick them to the top of the cookie for the feathers. To finish up, use gel frosting to add feet and a beat. Voila – a terrific (and tasty) Thanksgiving turkey!
I hope you all have a fabulous Thanksgiving with those you love and cherish. And don’t forget about our girls special occasion dresses at SophiasStyle.com and find a special dress for a special day.
What food are you looking forward to this Thanksgiving? Share with us!

Create Beautiful Memories With Her Communion Dress
I keep a special picture on top of my dresser that I look at every day. It is special to me for many reasons, but like with most pictures, its real importance comes from the people in the photograph.
I stand sandwiched between my grandma and grandpa, smiling a gap-toothed grin at the camera. My hands are folded in reverence and I’m wearing my first communion dress. It’s April of 1995, the day of my First Holy Communion. It was one of the last special events my grandparents were alive to witness. They both died shortly after the picture was taken. I remember that day well and looking at the photo every morning as I get ready for my day brings a smile to my face.
I often wonder what my relationship with my grandparents would be like now. I see the mature, adult relationship my fiancée has with his grandparents and sometimes feel badly that I missed out on that with my own grandma and grandpa. Still, I am grateful to have my special picture.
A girls First Holy Communion is a big event in her life. And just like me, she’ll have memories of it for the rest of her life. There are a lot of special elements to this big day. SophiasStyle.com has dozens of beautiful communion dresses that are perfect for the occasion. You might also celebrate with a cake and gifts. Just don’t forget the most important element – celebrating with the people you love most.
What do you remember about your first communion?

Make Your Winter Months Cheerful | SophiasStyle.com
The frigid winter months here at Sophias Style headquarters in Nebraska are always hard for me to deal with. The bitter cold winds, dirty slush on the streets and hours cooped up inside are not my favorite. Come back summer!
Still, there are things to look forward to during the winter – Christmas, snuggling with loved ones and fabulous winter coats! For sure SophiasStyle.com has plenty of affordable girls coats that will keep your little girl warm and trendy this winter.
Now I can add another thing to my list of fun things about winter –check out this new Knitwits girls outerwear we just got in last week. How cute will your little girl (or boy!) look in this knitted moose stocking cap by? It’s even got cute little antlers! We also have unicorn, dragon, monkey, kitten and frog stocking caps. Matching mittens for each animal are available for purchase too.
These adorable kids outerwear pieces will certainly bring some fun and warmth to those gloomy winter months and they make great holiday gifts!

Just Dance!
As a little girl I was always jealous of girls who danced. I admired all the pretty girls dancewear – the sparkly leotards, the fluffy tutus – and wished I could be graceful too. Unfortunately, I was more a girl of the shy, tomboy, clumsy variety. Except for one summer when I was six years old I took a dance class at our local community center…
The big finale of my summer dance class had two performances: a slow, interpretive number about a butterfly and a high energy dance to the ever-popular song “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” from the movie Mary Poppins. (In case you were wondering, yes I had to look up how to spell it!) I was so excited for the big show. My sister, my mother and her friend Alice even came to watch.
For the first song my dance group decided we would be caterpillars who grew into beautiful butterflies. Apparently I spaced off during that discussion. I decided to be a sleeping butterfly instead of flying away. As each of my classmates fluttered away I lay down and went to sleep. I must have looked so silly and my fellow dancers just look confused. My mom videotaped the performance, so I got to re-live it over and over.
My second performance started off great but ended in even more embarrassment. We were running, jumping and cart wheeling to the music like crazy – I loved it! At the very end I cart wheeled right into one of my fellow dancers. We both toppled over and sat stunned as the music ended. It was a real America’s Funniest Home Videos moment for sure.
So all in all, my experience with dance could have gone better. But honestly, it couldn’t have been any more fun either! And isn’t that what it’s all about when you’re a little girl?
Outfit your tiny dancer in girls dance shoes and dancewear from SophiasStyle.com and just encourage her to have fun. She’ll make great memories on stage and feel like a star.
