The old adage of "April showers bring May flowers" is so true. Unfortunately for some areas of the world, the rain never seems to end. All you parents out there know how hard a rainy day can be on the kids and parents alike. Add a toddler into the mix and you’ve got a very long day on your hands. Here are a few ways to make you rainy day fun for you and your toddler.
*Do hands on activities! Activities that include paint, rice, shaving cream, or flour may be a little messy, but are a TON of fun for the little ones! You can even make clean up game and have them help you.

*Help your toddler get on the phone and call grandparents. This is a great chance for you to get in a quick chat with the relatives and let your munchkin have some fun as well. And you know Ma and Pa are going to love it!
*Have a kitchen band concert. Wooden spoons can be used as microphones and drum sticks, pots and pans can be used as drums, and straws can be used as horns. Video tape your concert for a fun memory to relive later!
*Take a nature walk with umbrellas. Everything seems so different with the rain coming down. Ask your kids to tell you what they are experiencing with each of their fives senses. The kids will enjoy the fresh air and you’ll have a chance to get in a little exercise.
Remember that patience is the key. If you’re upset and restless your toddler will be too. Just relax and have fun! Enjoy the chance to make some new memories!
