New sweater dresses from Dollhouse
Maybe you didn’t know, but at SophiasStyle.com we’re adding new boutique girls clothing to our inventory every day. It’s fun to come to work each morning and see what baby, boys or girls clothes are waiting to be put on our website. Just yesterday we added new Peaches ‘n Cream outfits, Nina girls shoes and elegant Christmas dresses. Wonder what we’ll get today…

Moms should check our site frequently, because some days things are changing literally by the hour! However, I’ll give you a heads up on some fabulous new boutique girls clothes you should check out ASAP. I’d like to introduce you to Dollhouse, a new member of our family of girls clothing brands. This season Dollhouse is all about the sweater dress. These dresses are great for layering. You can add tights and flats in the fall, and then switch to leggings and boots when the winter chill really sets in. If only they made them in my size!

You might have to check every day for the newest fashions on our site(hint: new winter coats arrived today), but you’ll never have to search for discount prices – our low prices never change!

Designer Shoes are for Playing Too!

A fun Fall game!
I couldn’t believe my eyes yesterday when I saw people swimming at the outdoor pool in my apartment complex. Here it is, mid-September, and it’s still warm enough for a dip in the water.  It’s evidence that summer is still hanging around, and nothing could make me happier! I’m just hoping next weekend is as hot as this one was so I can get in on the pool party.

Even with summer on the way out, there is still plenty of time for fun outdoor activities. Many games are very simple and impromptu, so your little girl can even play outside in the same girls designer shoes she wears to school. Gather the neighborhood kids for a game of Giant Marbles (a super-sized version of the classic game):

1.      To set up: First collect as many balls as you can (soccer, beach, playground, and basketballs), then make a large circle with rope on grass or chalk on blacktop. Place all the balls into the circle and spread them out a little.
2.      To play: Players use one ball as the shooter (a heavier basketball or soccer ball works well). Standing 10 feet away, players take turns rolling this ball at the pile to try to knock out as many balls as they can without the shooter's going outside the ring. If a player knocks out any balls, he keeps them ("keepsies" in marbles lingo) and gets to go again. When the circle is empty, the player with the most keepsies wins.

Fashionable and functional shoes
This is a game is so much fun that even Moms and Dads may want to join. When you think of little girls designer shoes, you might think of glittery flats or shiny boots – not exactly playground material. But it’s simply not true- at least at SophiasStyle.com. Our collection of designer shoes for girls includes sneakers and athletic shoes that are perfect for running, kicking and jumping all day long!

Unique DIY Girls Halloween Costumes from SophiasStyle.com

She'll be a star in this Halloween costume!
It’s a good bet that Mom is involved in some way when planning girls costumes for Halloween. I always looked to my own mother for costume ideas when October rolled around, and over the years she came through with some really memorable girls Halloween costumes for me to wear. She was great at finding everyday clothing that we could transform into a costume with simple accessories.

SophiasStyle.com can help spark mom’s creativity this year. Of course our traditional Halloween costumes for girls make it simple and easy to prepare for the big night, but thinking outside the box while shopping our site can be fun too.

I browsed our Girls Casual Dresses department to find something I could transform into girls dress up clothes. This hot pink and silver coin sequin dress from Lipstik would make a perfect “pop star” costume. Add a pair of glitter tights, tall black boots and a denim jacket if it’s chilly outside. For props include a microphone or headset and she’s an instant star for the day! The best thing is that because the dress, tights, boots and jacket are not actually a costume, they can be easily incorporated into her everyday wardrobe all year round!

A pretty pageant dress costume
Pick up one of our girls pageant dresses and create a “Miss U.S.A” costume. Just add glitter heels or dress shoes, a tiara, long white gloves and a sash made from ribbon. She can wear the pageant dress again for Christmas, a wedding or other special occasion. In 7th grade I actually dressed up in this costume, and I got so many compliments from the kids at school (thanks mom!). Costumes for little girls should be about fun and creativity. It also never hurts to get a great deal on a costume too! Shop SophiasStyle.com and see what you can find.

Does your little boy ever wish he could be an astronaut? A racecar driver? A police officer? Thanks to new boys Halloween costumes from Aeromax, his wish can come true, as least for one day. The NASA flight suits feature official logos and patches and the firefighter suit is the exact same shade that your own hometown heroes wear.

Our collection of Aeromax Halloween costumes has styles for both boys and girls, so you can pick up an affordable costume for every kid in the family! Lito Christmas Dresses are Twice as Nice!

A beautiful Lito Christmas dress
You know the holidays are nearer when new Christmas dresses arrive everyday! We’ve been seeing a lot of Lito lately – a top quality brand that’s been a leader in girls Christmas dresses and other formal wear for more than 35 years. They provide quality and value in every beautiful keepsake garment they make.

In the past week alone, we’ve trimmed our proverbial tree with more than 20 new girl, toddler and infant Christmas dresses by Lito. Nothing says the holidays like an exquisite infant Christmas dress, but that doesn’t mean that’s all the dress has to say! For example, this beautiful navy dress with a silver rosette sash can serve double duty as both a holiday dress and a flower girl dress. Navy is a very popular color for fall and winter weddings and the silver accents add a bit of winter wonderland feel.

Your little girl will want to wear this gorgeous dress again anyway, and you’ll be happy to get twice the wear for one low price! You’ll have no trouble finding a versatile girls or infant Christmas dress by Lito – shop and see the selection at SophiasStyle.com!

Baby Gender Reveal Cake | SophiasStyle.com

Say it with cake!
A new baby trend fast catching on is the Baby Gender Reveal Cake. It’s a fun, simple and exciting way for parents-to-be to announce the gender of the baby to friends and family. The new mommy and daddy simply cut a cake to reveal pink or blue inside. Personally, I’d like my brother and sister-in-law to bake one of these. They’re expecting a baby at the end of this month, but have chosen not to reveal the sex of the baby until his or her arrival day. Luckily I don’t have to wait much longer, but I’ve been dying to know for months – should I buy newborn clothes for girls or boys?

It’s all very secretive and exciting, even for the parents. The doctor or sonogram technician writes “boy” or “girl” on a slip of paper and seals it in an envelope. Then mommy takes it to the bakery where the baker whips up either a blue or pink confection inside, with gender neutral white or chocolate frosting on the outside.  Mom and dad will be just as surprised as everyone else when they cut the cake!

New born girl clothes at SophiasStyle.com
I’m hoping for a girl because I think newborn baby girl clothes are so much more fun to shop for! The rest of the family is betting that it’s a boy. Of course we’ll all be happy no matter what –we just want a healthy baby.

Two New Fall Birthday Dresses for Your Little Girl

Decisions, decisions. Which of these adorable girls birthday dresses will you choose for your little girl? Both of these cheerful birthday dresses are from Bonnie Jean. We’ve been carrying their quality 1st birthday dresses for girls for years now, and they are always best sellers that delight both moms and birthday girls alike.

Polka dot birthday dress
Behind door number 1 is this Bonnie Jean polka dot print birthday dress with cap sleeves. The bodice is adorned with a black polka dot ribbon and bow (the perfect place to add personalized embroidery!) Attached to the bow are three pink balloons gathered in a bunch and embroidered with "Birthday Girl." There is a peek-a-book crinoline hem trimmed with black polka dot print. This dress is available in sizes 12M-4T, but maybe not for long!

Cupcake 1st birthday dress
Behind door number 2 is a more casual but still adorable first birthday dress. It features a pink and navy embroidered cupcake on the front with a cute polka dot bow. The navy blue skirt is scattered with colorful polka dots and there is peek-a-boo crinoline at the bottom hem. This comes in sizes 12M-4T and can easily be paired with leggings or a sweater if the weather turns chilly.

You really can’t go wrong with either of these first birthday dresses – or for that matter, with any first birthday dress or first birthday outfits from SophiasStyle.com!
